One of the best jazz clubs in Helsinki was named after the famous district of New Orlean, where Jelly Morton and other prominent musicians gave a promising start of the new age in world music - it was high time for jazz. Today the Storyville Club cozily located in the central part of Helsinki right next to the House of Parliament continues keeping the traditions of live jazz performances, mostly improvisations. Every evening on the stage of the club the concerts of Finnish and European jazz-bands take place. There is also a restaurant in the club, where the guests can taste a perfect choice of dishes, especially of American cuisine.
