The Yrjonkatu Swimming Pool is located in the center of Helsinki. For many years this swimming pool opened in 1928 was the only public indoor swimming pool of the city. According to the Wallpaper Magazine's overview the Yrjonkatu is the 3-rd indoor swimming pool of Europe in size and a choice of amenities.
The swimming pool's building is a majestic specimen of classical architecture of 1920s. The Yrjonkatu's interior is decorated in Roman style. In 1997-1999 the swimming pool was thoroughly reconstructed.
The Yrjonkatu has two big swimming pools. From 2001 customers are allowed to swim without bathing suites - that's why the Yrjonkatu's schedule has separate times for men and women. Water in swimming pools is purified with ozone treat.
