The first in Scandinavia Sea Life Center was opened in 2003. The Helsinki Sea Life is the most northern part of the Merlin Entertainments Group LTD's European wide chain, the world's largest public aquarium brand with over five million visitors a year. It is located in the Linnanmaki amusement park.
The two-storied building with many exhibition aquariums presents hundreds of rarest and most picturesque sea inhabitants from the entire world - fish and sea horses, starfish and anemones, sharks and lobsters. The Sea Life offers the possibility to experience the wonders of underwater miracles by creating as natural as possible living environments for the creatures of the exhibition.
Visitors will have a unique experience to see flora and fauna of over 40 exiting and interesting aquriums. During the excursion visitors of Sea Life can make the acquaintance of various places of the World Ocean, from the cold Baltic Sea to tropical coral reefs. There are over 100 species and closer to 3000 individuals in the exhibition with 10 different shark species, colourful fish of coral reefs, rays, jelly fish, sea horses and many others among them. You will be greatly impressed with the largest Sea Life aquarium (230 sq. m.) complete with a transparent walkthrough underwater tunnel. Visitors can walk here and observe the underwater life.
The Sea Life offers its guests plenty of amusing interactive exhibitions including recently opened Igapo rainforest, which is a part of the permanent exhibition. Visitors are also welcome to a cozy cafe and a shop offering a wide choice of gifts and sea souvenirs.
